Whenever you try to attach a device...dont do it keeping itunes open from the last time....I mean when a device is detached...close itunes and then restart it after that attach another device. It may help you in syncing properly..

My itunes handle 5 device accounts perfectly....You should sync all devices one by one from the beginning and then try again...

Hmm, I am not sure if any of the above helps me? I have an iPhone 4 and the hubby had an iTouch 4 but we both have separate apps as well we both have separate music and I can't seem to update his apps, only mine will............I actually went as far as uninstalled iTunes a few weeks ago and reset it up for me so I could update mine but now I can't update his.....I am really surprised someone hasn't come out with a good 3rd software that would handle 2 accounts on one mac easier than this ;-(

Well you need to try again. It is overloaded for last 2 days...because many people are upgrading it. I have upgraded mine in 4th time. Check again for the contacts and all..If in that devices some shows just your wife's contacts and stuff then it probably be her device under your name...The chances are by the way very less for that because it reads the device no and hardware id before connecting it.

Well after applying iOS 5 to my phone yesterday i was greeted by iTunes wanting to back the phone up which i did, only thing is that the bar went about half an inch and then stayed there, i had to restore the phone to get past the back up!

Anyway last night i did the same with the wife's and again it got stuck on backing up, i then did a restore but when that was finished it didn't have the wife's name on devices it just had mine 4 times in Devices! Now she has my contacts, messages, and themes and has lost her hi-scores on her favourite games oops!!

Before pluging the device you need to open the profile you want to use for sync. And then when you plug the device. It will just sync the contact which is meant for that device. Although it automatically detects the device and sync as it goes. But sometimes when you dont create two contact lists in the iTunes it just merge or replaces them and thats why we see other people conacts in our phone.

Actually its because your phone is registered in your itunes library and its not universal for everybody.....It only works in seperate profiles for everybody.

So whenever you need to do something with your iphone on PC or Mac....You will only be able to do with your profile and using your itunes Library. You cannot edit or even see many things of other profile. It is working just fine. You have two different groups of contacts and it is not mixing thats the best part....other things will happen as it has to be.

I am having lots of trouble with the contacts. I have created separate contact groups in Windows, one for myself and one for my fiancé, but when I am given the option to sync "all contacts" or "selected group" it will not allow me to choose "selected groups." It is grey and can't be selected. I've read other posts online with the same problem. Any suggestions?

Yes it will work in pc too. You just have to create another account in iTunes and both can login by their respective accounts....Different account will have different end device (iphone) and it will sync devices for a particular account at a time.
